About our family-run pet crematorium

Based in Hampshire, Cremate-A-Pet was established by Peter Winfield in 1979 - he sought to create a small and friendly company whose ethos was to provide a simple, honest, caring and respectful service for people looking to have their dear pet cremated.

Our ethos

“At the heart of everything we do is our love of animals and our desire to help ease the pain of losing your beloved pet.

Over the years my parents have welcomed a huge number of people into their home, helping pet owners deal with their loss, and ensuring that their beloved friend has the farewell they deserve.

My father who is now in his 80s is finally taking a step back and I am pleased to now be running the business with our loyal, caring and longstanding team.

We are a small independent company, which means we can be more flexible and offer a more personal service.

We are proud of our reputation and the quality of the service we provide. Most of our customers come to us by word-of-mouth, from people who have used our service and then recommend us to family and friends. Hopefully that says it all.”
Sue

“Having had many dogs, mainly springer spaniels, I know how traumatic the loss of a pet can be. I feel privileged to have met, over the years, so many caring people, who have loved and lost a pet just like we have. Having your pet's ashes back can bring enormous comfort at a very sad time.”
Peter

Our promise

• We promise your pet will be individually cremated at our pet crematorium, which is located just outside of Winchester, and that the ashes returned to you will be the ashes of your pet and only your pet.

• Your pet will be handled carefully at all times, as if they were one of our own - ensuring they are treated with love and respect no matter how big or small they are.

• We will help and support you through making the arrangements for the cremation of your pet and will do everything we can to ensure your wishes are met.

• We are an understanding and sympathetic company - having known the pain of losing a pet ourselves, our aim is always to make the process a comforting experience - one that eases the pain and gives you peace of mind.
