Questions you may have about your pet’s cremation

We are here to offer help, support and advice for when your pet dies - if you have any further questions, would like a quote or would like to talk things through please do call us on 01962 864405.
Why Cremation?
Many of our customers say what a great comfort they feel on receiving their pet's ashes back. Your dear pets remains can then be kept at home, scattered or buried. If you choose to keep the ashes, cremation can allow your beloved pet to always be with you and if you ever move home it can mean your pet can come too.

How can I be sure that my pet has been individually cremated and that it is my pets ashes?
We carefully note your name, address, pets name and veterinary practice both at our office and our crematorium. All animals for individual cremation are kept separate and we provide you with a card guaranteeing the ashes are your pets and yours alone.

What size pets can you cremate?
We can cremate all pets from small budgies to large dogs.

Can I make arrangements before my pet dies?
Yes, you are very welcome to contact us before the final day. Many people contact us in advance of the death of their dear pet and their details and those of their pet would be kept on file until our help and service is needed. However we do understand planning ahead is not always possible and you may need to call us on the day.
Can I organise my pet's cremation through my vet?
Yes. Once you have decided you want your pet cremated, ensure you leave clear instructions with your veterinary surgeon so you get the service you want. We are very happy to liaise with your veterinary surgery and confirm any arrangements you would like to make. Please remember you are under no obligation to use the service your veterinary surgery uses. If you choose to use us simply inform your vet and then they can contact us to make the arrangements.

Can you collect from my home?
Yes, we are very happy to make collections from your home and all collections are made in discretion.

Can I bring my pet to you myself?
Yes, either by prior appointment or a telephone call before leaving your veterinary practice.

How will my pet be treated?
It is very important to us that all pets are treated like one of our own. Your pet will be handled carefully at all times and we assure you that they will be treated with the respect that they deserve.

What’s included in the price?
Our service includes collection and individual cremation of your dear pet, and the ashes returned to you in either a casket or scatter tube.
What happens after cremation?
You may wish to collect your pet’s ashes from us in Winchester. Alternatively we can return their ashes directly to your home or your vet, whichever you would prefer.

Should I choose a casket or scatter tube?
People tend to choose a scatter tube if they wish to scatter their pet's ashes in a special place. The casket with an engraved nameplate is more of a keepsake for the home.

How long before my pet's ashes are returned to me?
It usually takes between 2-4 days to return your pet to you.

How and when should I pay for the cremation?
You can pay for our services by cash, cheque or bank transfer, either in advance or on return of the ashes.

What hours are you open and what happens if my pet dies at the weekend?
We are open Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30- and are always happy to open up our home to you and offer support and advice for when your pet dies. If you do call out of hours or at the weekend and get an answer machine please just leave us a message, text our mobile number or email us, and we will endeavour to reply to you as soon as we can.
